A few interesting 1st round matches. JJ against Gabica, Gabe's match,
John Schmidt and Tony Chocan. I see where our own Steve Rector is playing again, and will have to play Earl in the 2nd round if Steve wins his first match.

Snapshot9 said:There scheduling of matches down through the brackets is downright wierd, and surely they have more than just 8 tables for a 256 player event. At 11 am this morning (EDT), they only have 8 matches scheduled.
And why do they have matches at 11 pm at night, and no 5 and 7 pm matches?

where can I find a complete players list (not a draw sheet)
It's due to the amount of byes. You will see all times filled by Wednesday.Snapshot9 said:I can't think of a Ron, you don't mean Rotten Ralph, do you? Yes, since Steve has been clean, for many years now, he has become a little like
'Felix' of the Pool World, around here anyway... lol Steve is real self-contained and particular. Boy, if he plays Earl 2nd round, there could really be fireworks before that match is over ... lol Steve does not like an opponent jiving him with chatter and sharking ...

AzHousePro said:Sorry it took me so long to get the brackets posted. I was at a BCA State Scotch Doubles Championship until wee hours of the morning this morning and didn't have it in me to work on brackets at 3 am.
The brackets are now posted at http://www.azbilliards.com/2006usopen/brackets.cfm

Snapshot9 said:But 17 playing tables and 7 days just doesn't seem right to me after watching the IPT events. They ought to have 24-32 tables, and run the event in 4 days, 5 tops.
They have many players that will play matches (only 1 in a day), and not play another match for 30-36 hours later. For example, if Gabe beats larry Nevel, at the 11 am match, he would play again at 3 pm, and if wiinning that one, would not play again till 9 pm on Wednesday night.
Just seems like the tournament could be organized and run better than what I am seeing now. Players having to stand all the cost for 7 days seems excessive for this tournament and especially the format.
