Can you take down a 314-2 shaft without compromising the ferrule wall cracking. What Im talking about is 12.25mm. I am used to a 12 to 12.25mm shaft and like the feel. Im not crazy about the z shaft being that it is 11.75. A bit thin for me. So Im considering a sort of conical taper with the first say 8 inches to 12.25. I think this would play really well in that it would have a bit more stiffness than the z which is what Im looking for. Also considering the mezz wx900. Thanks for any imput. Happiness Mark

This is the reason why Seybert's will only take down 314^3 shafts down to 12.5mm and Z^3 shafts down to 11.5mm.

OB will not cover anything below 11.25mm for OB-2/OB-2+ or OB Pro/OB Pro+. I purchased an OB Pro+ from them at 11.30mm.
