I just go this email from the Horseshoe Southern Indiana, the host hotel for the Derby City Classic.

Due to rising Ohio River conditions Horseshoe Southern Indiana, including hotel, is temporarily closed effective immediately. At this time, all scheduled promotions, events, and entertainment at Horseshoe Southern Indiana have been cancelled until further notice.

For the well-being of our team members and guests, Horseshoe Southern Indiana will reopen once water levels have receded to a safe level. Our dedicated marine operations staff are closely monitoring the river forecast and a future announcement regarding reopening will be sent as soon as possible. For continuous updates please follow us on Facebook and Twitter or call 866-605-9088. Thank you for your support in this matter.

Glad this didn't happen a few weeks ago at the Derby.

Couldnt have happened to a nicer place :rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1:

You can bet they'll pass the cost of any inconvenience to them on to the customer, they probably already doubled down on the price of the buffett. Maybe this time they'll check for black mold :idea2: That place going under would be the best thing that happened to the DCC since the worst thing that happened to it...which was it moving there

You mean their boat won't float!

Only the gambling is on the water as for the hotel I don't think they have any water damage yet
but the parking lot is flood and the road to the casino is closed.

They took some water damage some years ago and it didn't take long and they were back up and running
so I dout this will effect the DCC

Well I was wrong a friend works sercertiy their he said on bottom floor by escalator there's 3ft of water in side.

Says it looks bad and worst part is its still raining like crazy here and the river is not going to peak for a couple
more days yet. Going be alot of water damage before it's over.

I think that after many years of hosting the DCC, the casino should be well prepared to
handle this problem.
After all, they’ve had many players running out like water....
...but they always leave a deposit.

Lordy. Presumably there is two feet of water in the buffet, ice cream shop, Binnion's, and that other restaurant. And, of course, all of the main tournament area.

Didn't the site planner have a flood zone map?

Bob, the bottom of the escalator in the picture going to the boat is at least 20 feet lower than the restaurant and event center area.

If it reaches the top of the escalator everyone on each side of the river would need to get on the ark.

Don't forget, the walkway over the road is pretty damn high and that's the level of everything

They wouldn't take it out on the customers. They have a 'loss of business operations insurance policy, don't you worry about that.

What?! Can collect on policy AND fukc this patrons some more? Ship it!!
