Tiger Everest question

A friend just brought over a Tiger Everest to install on his shaft. On the bottom where you apply the glue I notice a red layer. My question is, do you sand this layer off or just ruff it up as normal? I knew they had the red layer to tell you when to change the tip but was not aware of the bottom being red as well.

Thanks,

The answer to all Tiger Everest questions is: DONT USE IT IT'S DAMN NEAR CRAP.
Use Sniper, Onyx, Tiger soft. But not the Everest.

PS: As for the layer, just rough it up, glue as normal.

Just scuff it as normal. It's a fiber pad that cuts/trims just fine with a sharp blade on your lathe.
