what she was taught. "The technique I use
was taught to me by Efren Reyes.
According to Efren, there are three kinds
of hits on any object ball. First, there's
looking at the center of cue ball to the
point of aim if the shot is a full ball hit. If
not, you can divide the object ball into four
quarters, sighting your cue ball edge to the
point of aim.
Centers and edges, FROM EFREN HIMSELF. Well now what do you know
Edge?? it's a sphere...

Technically, that was from Leslie O'Hare.
NOT EFREN.
You are way behind the times lol
One may "see" the balls as 2D and redraw the mind to shoot for visible edges/horizons.
Yes, visualize would refer to projecting 2D onto 3D. But one can hold the 2D visualization without needing to reacquire 2D shot-to-shot. That's why I put "see" inside quotation marks. You will yourself to not see 3D object balls.
Pretty sure Hal could visualize anything Dale could and far more. And edges refers to the perspective from the shooter's point of view, the horizon, i.e. the VISIBLE edge. It is IMPOSSIBLE to see beyond the horizon of a sphere so that last point of visibility becomes the effective edge. That "edge" rotates with the viewer's relationship to the sphere.
