Scruggs Butt cap removal????

Why is there a buzz going around about people
intentionally removing a perfectly sound butt cap
off a Scruggs cue? What's the purpose of this?
Are they putting the Scruggs butt caps onto
a non-Scruggs cue to pull a fast one???
I've heard this multiple times, but haven't gotten
a solid answer as to why...

It's always about money. And it's not just Scruggs cues.

It's why I kept all the original paperwork with my Scruggs cue. It's the only cue of value that I own.....haha

When you can get a TS logo added on a cue today (supposedly verified by an expert), long after his passing, it really puts a damper on the collectability of his work.
