Does anyone on here know how to nurse balls down the rail, as in straight rail or 4 ball? I am in korea and they play a simple carom game of 4 ball. i like it because I have always been interested in running a 100 points in straight rail like the old timers. Plus i wouldnt mind whopping up on some koreans in the process. So if anyone can explain this for me, it would be appreciated.

I have Daly's billiard book in transit to my house, i will get my stuff in december and I plan on going through that book thoroughly.

Wow, that is all I can say. When done correctly the nurse shot is a beauty to watch. I enjoyed the matches too. Seeing how they shoot a ball around the table with controlled speed to get the two reds back together so they can eventually start nursing the balls again is beautiful. Honestly now that I have a better understanding, this technique is not outside my realm of abilities. I play average 3 cushion already and I am a shortstop speed player at any pocket billiard game.

Thanks

Also learn gather shots, as it helps you get the speed down for certain patterns. I bought Xavier's book and in my opinion it is the book to have on the small modalities, even if it is in French.
