I like a really soft tip and wonder which of these 2 tips I should try next.

I don't believe the G2 comes in super soft so I would have to try soft.

Opinions please.

Thanks

G2. They're good quality and you won't have all the normal "Kamui problems"

IMHO, the G2 soft beats the Kamui SS by light years.

As a matter of fact, your post just reminded me to order some more today. Thanks.

Have you tried Elkmaster? They are soft. Some like the elk master "milk duds". My preference is the Triangle but they are more the medium hardness.

^^^ What he said. I don't like the hit of glue, regardless of how they classify it, ( SS,S,M,H ). I still have about 3 OLD Chandivert Champions, other than that it's Milkdud, LePro, or Triangle! I use only maple shafts also. Maybe layered tips work better with LD shafts, ( glued wood & glued leather ). Best of luck whatever you choose!

I've switched from G2 to SIB Pro tips. They are only $3 and hit the same or even better to the G2s, I'd try one for $3 first and thank me later if you love it.

Hey Kevin.......Kamui Black Clear Tips & Cortland Linen #9.......A+++++

Kevin,

You know I wouldn't steer you wrong and this is just my opinion but...
it is based upon first hand personal experience with cue tips. For any
advice on Kamui products, get in touch with Shooter08 (Tom) at Wisconsin
Billiard Supplies. He's an authorized Kamui dealer and approximately 3 years
I asked him for some input about Kamui products.

I had been playing with Kamui Black tips (medium) for awhile (>5 yrs.) & the
main gripe I had about the tips were they tended to glaze pretty quickly versus
other brand tips I'd previously used. So I reached out to Tom & asked for his
thoughts whether I had gotten a bad batch of tips or should I try Kamui Black
but in a soft version and would it help with my glazing complaint?

Tom took the time to review several other brands of tips that are well regarded
by many pool players and we specifically discussed Kamui & what I wanted in
my next tip since I had decided I had enough of the glazing that was annoying.

He steered me towards the Kamui Clear Series and after we chatted more about
this version, I decided that the Clear Black in either soft or super soft was the way
to go. So I orderd both and had Tom ship them directly to Bob Owen since he was
making me a custom at that time and it had three (3) shafts.

Kevin, since that time, Tom has shipped Kamui Clear Black Soft Tips to Bob Owen for
a 2nd custom cue he made for me & two more times for custom cues Jerry Rauenzahn
made for me. I also ordered Kamui Clear Black Tips for a couple of other cues. Only my
Ed Prewitt cue has a different tip and it's the original Moori brown in a medium tip and I
really do love the way that cue plays but it could also be due to the fact it's a Prewitt cue.

As far as hardness, I prefer the soft version in the Kamui Clear Black series but frankly, the
super soft is not too soft to play with. It depends on what your expectations are and frankly,
I could play with either on my cues and remain very happy. But since there's no reason to
do that, especially since I like all my cues to have the same specs and tips, I elected to go
with the Kamui Clear Black (Soft) for my cues.

I have yet to find or try an other brand tip that I enjoy as much as the Kamui Clear Black tips
and deciding upon the correct cue tip hardness is the trick that will make it click....Best of Luck.
