Good carom game on a pool table

Been thinking about this for a while, I don't think cowboy is that great. Trying to roll English billiards into something appropriate for a 9' pool table, this is what I came up with:

The name is "One-Rail Hazards". Rules are very simple.

Red, yellow, white ball, starting positions the same as in carom games.

1 point for a 1-rail carom.

All pockets are hazards and are worth 0 points. The first hazard (in-off or pot) doesn't end your turn. Your cue ball is spotted in the D (or some equivalent area), red ball is spotted halfway between foot spot and foot rail, opponents cue ball spotted on the middle spot.

Your turn ends if you either fail to make a 1-rail carom, or you hazard (in-off or pot) two times in a row.

Idea is that you can use in-offs and pots to position yourself for a 1-rail, but keeps players in the carom mindset more often than the pool mindset. 0-point hazards, 1-rail, and limit try to compensate for the difference in difficulty level between a snooker table and pool table.

May I request someone try this and provide feedback?
