and i don't know if it's very old or not, is it okey if it's very old ?
how can i know the manufacturing date ?

and please any advise will be appreciated before i buy it.

Thanks

GCIV
Return system can be removed but keep it together in a box if you ever decide to sell it.
Yes, you will need new pockets. Available from Cuestix http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cuestix-Rub...566668&hash=item5b3d9ece39:g:x7QAAOSw8thZnYET

Please do the GCIV End Sag Fix Brackets while the frame is off the pedestals.
See RKC's fix....http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=261591&highlight=sagging

It's newer than most you will see in most pool rooms.
A very good model.
First built in 1997.

Buying it depends on the price and rail surface condition = dents!
<$1000 is a great deal.
$1500 is a good deal.
$2000 is a fair deal.
>$2500 is OK if it is in perfect shape.
***These prices Do Not include setup, cloth, transport.

Thank you very much for your reply and this important info of supporting the frame.

so i just need 4 pieces of steel like the pictures in RKC thread and put it under the frame in the corner pockets.
i read the screws are 1/4" and 1 1/4" length
but what is the width and length of the steel pieces ?

and can you please tell me what is the pockets that comes with the table in drop system in Classic Billiards site ?

It's $1850 with simonis cloth.

thanks again

Brackets are 1-1/4" angle iron.
16" long works.
Round off the corners so that there is nothing sharp.
Paint them Black so the brackets disappear into the shadows.

Be sure the top of the frame is flat and even before you install them.
I had one corner that I needed to loosen the frame bolts, even it up, tighten the bolts and then install the brackets.

It can be done while the table is assembled but it is easier when the top of the frame is exposed.
The brackets go under the frame and help hold up the end support.
The GCV's solved the problem by having the side supports go the full length with the end supports bolted between.
The Brunswick engineers were trying to save on long lumber by making the side supports 12" shorter with the end supports butted and bolted to the end of the side supports.

Your table techs should know of this problem and the fix.
All GCIV's need to have these brackets to be installed Before a problem arises.

Yes, six 1/4" x 1-1/4" lag bolts with washers.
Be sure to drill a pilot hole and put bar soap or beeswax on the threads.

I have a template if I can find it.
I'll take pictures and post when I can.

Very good price for transport, install, cloth.

Follow the eBay/Cuestix link for the pockets.

You'll also find that the metal plating on the GCIV's can become tarnished and pitted because the metal was not prepared correctly before plating.
You can have them powder coated in "Antique Cooper Vein" to match original.
or
You can buy new replacements now. $445 set https://www.classicbilliards.net/an...tory-finish-bronze-gold-crown-4-castings.html
I used "Antique Gold Vein" to brighten the table up.

Brackets are under the frame so it's not visible

Yes, eight 1/4" x 1-1/4" lag bolts with washers.
Be sure to drill a pilot hole and put bar soap or beeswax on the threads.

may you please explain this?

I'm more anal about my repairs....
As good as Factory or Better.
Leave them as is and they will get a light coat of rust over the years.
Unless you use aluminum.
But as you said "it's under. Unseen."
Except "I Know" it's there, half way done.

I round off the corners so some child doesn't split his head open when he crawls under your table.

Yes, I use a Sixth lag bolt just to be super sure of the support.
Make sure the end supports are level and not sagging before you install them.

About the price it's not including install and transport. :)
Still a fair price for a GCIV.

Thanks very much for your help

It's a great table just a minor frame design "Brain Fart"
and the bad vendor surface prep of the metal castings.

i understand the bolts with washers but the second line i didn't understand :embarrassed2:

BTW is the return system good and quiet in GCIV ?
if it is maybe i'll try it before replacing it although i prefer drop pockets.

Thanks :thumbup2:

Ball returns are noisy by nature. The metal rods "sing". The balls "plop & bang" in the ball box.
Yes, sometimes the GC side pocket returns will drop a ball.
Not sure if the IV's still have this problem.
Some people screw a piece of fabric there to keep the balls in the return.

I like drop pockets better myself.
The IV's hold a lot more of balls compared to the previous models.
