You are kidding right? In a sport like pool it is the only thing that matters, two players playing till one of them breaks. I owned a 24 hour action room and anytime two guys got on the table even average players it was going to be like 6, 8, 12 hours or more.I don't get it. Deleted, didn't understand post at first.I can't do anything for 12 hours straight anymore but I certainly would like to tell my story (written in AZ Blingo).
When I was in my early 20's my buddy and I played for 24 hours straight 9 ball one time I was up at one point 25 games so he got back down to 4 games with me ahead he quit and refused to pay me so I said WTH and so he said would you have paid me if you lossed and I won and I said hell no I wouldn't loose anyway and we both laughed and punched each others shoulder in a brotherly way about six times if anyone doubts this story just go to LA and ask around.
By the way, that's a true story.

If it is a good match at the beginning both players think they can win. Playing a few sets an quitting means nothing. For that matter most tournament pool with the race to 9 double elimination means nothing, proves nothing.
Put two players in a room with no time limit and lets see what happens. That is pool in it's purest form.

Kinda like winning a short race to 5 and bragging about it...... I don't get that
'Cause we like it. That's why!
Why do you like it?
And if there are fewer doing it they days, which seems to be what people are reporting, doesn't that indicate you don't like it?

How players play will often change as a long set progresses. Some guys get stronger and fall into the zone, other guys start getting weaker.
A few years back I was chatting with Jose Parica and he told me that in a long set "no one" could beat him.
Jose has often been described as a player with a big heart and no doubt that is true but when he said that it also made me realize that Jose's game is so rock solid that he had confidence in prevailing in a long set because he'd start out strong and stay strong and finish strong.

worth bragging about
I can't give you more greenies
I've seen more amazing things happen 12 hours deep when the guys are grinding it out, than I ever have in any short race to 5.
Other way around. If it happened it's bragging - if it didn't happen it's lying....if it happens, it ain't bragging.
