Does it help enough in a rotation game such as 10 ball if, instead of BIH, the ball is spotted on the head spot or a "center spot" (between the center pockets) at the shooter's option following a miss? It stops safeties and provides more limited options than BIH. Definitely a shot clock to move things along.
