This article previews the 3C event at the World Games and has an interview with Marco Zanetti, the 2013 winner. No kozoom subscription is required to read the article.

The US is represented by Hugo Patino and Pedro Piedrabuena.

The World Games is held every 4 years under the auspices of the IOC. The success of the cue sport events ( in addition to 3c they also have American 9 ball and English snooker - all played at the same time in the same venue) would seem to be a pre-condition for elevation to the Olympics. Sadly I have been unable to find out what 2 Americans are playing in the 9 ball event.

It is kind of funny that the pool world seems to want pool to be in the Olympics, yet the closest event to the Olympics, and a step along that possible path to getting into the Olympics are virtually ignored in the US.

FWIW, the next World Games, in 2021, will be held in Birmingham Alabama. I don't know what quality of players the pool and snooker events draw, but the 3C event gets a good selection of World class players among the 16 entrants.
