Just watched NAPT 2017 10 ball. Karen vs Brittany Bryant.
I cringed the whole time watching Karen shoot then with her left hand hold her cue at the ferrule, then drag the cue around the table.
Do many of you guys do that? I won't even do that with a bar cue!
OK, rant over!!!

Evidently never watched snooker.

I saw something funny a few years ago. Pagulayan was playing in the Canadian pool championships - he won everything - and during the snooker he was dragging his cue around snooker style.

I do not understand why any player would do that (even a newbie to the game). I never seen a player drag their cue around the table (and on top of that, holding the cue by its ferrule?). Sounds really silly, I think.

It was explained to me that normally Snooker Cues are longer and that is why you see snooker players doing it. And probably becomes a habit on how the player chalks a cue.

It's usually the other way around...snooker cues are normally 57 in.
Most of the pool cues I bought were 58 in.
A shorter cue makes for a stronger hit, which is important on the heavier cloth.
