Do the American pool players give back?

Since the financial aspects of playing pool for a living has been discussed extensively, I'd consider "giving back" more in line of doing exhibitions and spending time just helping to promote the game to the younger generation. I certainly wouldn't expect them to donate their tough to earn money, but I would like to know who donates time to help our game get some recognition here.

True.

Imo, social efforts would be far more valuable than financial contribution, anyway.

Johnnybgood, Lol.

Sorry that you and a few others don't see the humor in this thread. It was started because of another senseless thread about whether the Filipinos give back.

This thread was meant to show how ridiculous it is to expect anyone who plays pool to "give back" anything.

Pool players are trying to make a living and they are no different than anyone else working for a living; they just have to work harder at it than most and make less than most.

Pool players from all continents choose who they "give back" to and who they choose to "not give back" to.

I've been fortunate to be around many of these professional pool players and they are just like anyone else.

This might be the stupidest post ever! How do you define "give back to the country that provided them?"

I don't know of a single player that is living in Malibu Hills. I mean this is so stupid. Out of all sports and I do mean all sports, there isn't a single player that makes over 200k a year playing pool. And if that player does it isn't for a second year.

Can you imagine tiger woods or Michael Jordan smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer while performing there profession.

The problem with pool is the players and the environment they play in.

It's like asking a homeless guy to contribute you the YMCA!

Joey.... till now I have respected your posts. But, 100k in Arkansas and New York is so far off that obviously you don't understand financials.

Obaasaid a rich person makes 250k. WTF? What country does that undereducated moron live in?

Wake up people!

If you are not making 500k a year you are poor! Period! End of topic!

Live with it or change it.

Should a pool player making (at the top level) give 10% of his 100k earnings away? F$ck to the NO!

Yes...he does seem to "get it" quite a bit for one who has been registered for a year and started aggessively posting pretty recently.

People are always telling other people what to do with their money.
Envious?
Jealousy?
Socialism?
Stupidity?

I'm entitled.
Ask me how.
What does only being registered one year and posting aggressively have to do with anything I post?
There's a required amount of time before I can post?
For your info...I've just got into playing pool.
Haven't played since I was 11 at the Boys Club.
Started playing again as Physical Therepy for a bicycle accident.

Why do most people make it hard for beginners to join in on their sport/hobby/club/group?

No wonder cue sports in America is suffering.
Pool rooms are intimidating enough without the turned up noses from real players.

What "sounds familiar" about me?
Please tell us what you are thinking?
I'm using more than one user name?
I'm really PoolKillers?
As a Noob, I was "lurking" before I made my first post.

Black-Balled, you have 6.3 posts per day.
That is pretty aggressive posting!

All I know is I am never going to stay in the pool hall for 3 solid days hoping to make a few hundred dollars. That's too hard of work for me.

I'd prefer to play some one pocket in between you and easy-e.

True, I did not read the original post. So I am relieved that it was a joke of sorts.

It is a special shooting technique.

What I really want to know is: How many good pool players use the RAM SHOT technique?

I know of only one player who uses this technique and he does so very effectively.

I'm not saying you are PoolKillers, but you have brought up his posts out of the blue a whole bunch. Like a LOT. Kind of like what PoolKillers might do if he was a troll and was on here with a new screen name. You have also referenced the possibility that you are PoolKillers a whole bunch, as if that would be incredulous. Like a LOT. Kind of the way that somebody might do if they were PoolKillers and back on a different name and thinking that bringing him up would throw off the scent because people would have to think there is no way that PoolKillers under a new name would bring up PoolKillers because that would just be too brazen to be possible, yet a troll would think it was hilarious.

You also have claimed in a whole bunch of posts that you are a brand new "noob" pool player (although you spell it differently), yet you give tons and tons of advice on here and it is clear that you have far more knowledge than any brand new noob would ever have. Something sure doesn't add up and I don't think you've been completely honest about who you are even if it isn't PoolKillers.
