Sanction while keeping current format?

I'm looking at choices for a sanctioning body that will allow my local league to keep it's current format.
It's currently 6 player teams, every night you draw and are matched up with a teammate. So each night each team is split into 3 pairs. Then we play a race to 10, matching up appropriately.

Bird,

Check out www.americancuesports.org. The ACS is run by the same people who ran the BCA pool leagues before they were sold to Mark Griffin. Like the BCAPL, there is no set league format. Their national championship event is also held in Las Vegas. ACS at the Tropicana in early May. BCAPL at the Rio late in July.

Incidentally, where in Upstate New York are you?

Not sure if there is either a BCAPL or CCS league operating in either Corwall, Ontario or Plattsburgh, NY. Seem to remember seeing a team from the Native American community playing team events in Vegas. Pretty sure the Akwesasne tribe runs a casino just east of Messina. You might contact them.

If you wish to discuss joining a national sanctioning body for your league, contact John Lewis at ACS. He's the director and should be able to answer all your questions. Good luck.

Thanks Lyn, we do have an ACS league here in Akwesasne. However I don't know if they'll support our format. I can't reduce our team size to less than 6 players. Too many players and not enough places to play.

I used to play in one league where I had to pay separate membership dues for ACS and BCA. Each team roster allowed for 7 players.

What benefits are you looking for in a sanctioning body?

Bird,

It's not possible for you to rotate players on a weekly basis? My ACS/BCAPL/VNEA team in Vegas has eight players. As our season is over sixteen weeks long, we rotate so all of us get our required eight weeks of play in. It's that magic eight week thing that is really important. Specially if your team wants to participate in the national tournaments. On the local level, don't think any sanctioning body cares. Although VNEA requires twelve weeks of play for singles events.
