Once you've got your hands on a REVO shaft and roadline Predator cue, why would anyone spend $3500 on a cue? SW sure does not hit the same and I know, I've owned a few of them back when Jerry was around.

Real question is why would anyone want a revo over any good maple shaft?

Stay clean, always smooth, never gets dinged up. Lots of things.

I still enjoy maple as well,my statement was sort of a joke.

You try to make a joke on an AZ thread? Come on Greg, we're way too sophisticated for that  :sorry: .

I buy a cue for performance.
When I hear about shots that I can’t do with wood, I’ll get interested.

I come from golf, where technology had made great advances...golfers from my father’s
generation swore by hickory.....now only used in some putters.
So I don’t want to be one of those stubborn guys that cling to tradition....
....but to change I need to hit with a shaft that hits better.

I take care of my cues, I don’t need a maid to keep them clean.

Well to eliminate context sure makes that statement look better that it really is. Original steel shafts only came in one size. Cut for length, and that's all you had. It's what Predator has done. Introduced something that doesn't work for all. Give it time and we'll see that a carbon composite shaft for a pool cue is all that's available. Available in different tapers, weights, and sizes. Until Predator drops their "we know what's best for players" attitude, wood is king. But not for any reason you believe.

This SouthWest cue belonged to my old friend Mike Surber. As a lot of you know
Mike was killed in a home invasion in 2009. His brother is selling his cue collection
now. it is a purpleHeart, maple forearm, 6 points, 3 shafts. pin 592-93.
It also has a case with it. 2 x 4 with SOUTH WEST CUES etched into the
back of the case.
Anyone interested can PM me for more details.
Thanks

I have 7 customs at the moment & 3 due to me within the next calendar hear. I also have 3 Revo's & the bkrush. It doesn't matter to me what others own. I enjoy both & wouldn't argue over either option.

...Palm to face... Hijack deluxe.
How did this become a Revo thread?
On topic, very sad to learn about the loss of
someone, especially to an act of violence.
Which is why this cue is even available for purchase.
I'm not much of a Southwest fan,
and especially not the Revo.

I'd be very happy just to play at or near as good as Irving, Willie, Cowboy Jimmy, Efren, Cornbread, and the rest of the maple shaft guys.

getting a Revo and surpassing them would be waaaay too suspicious at tuesday senior league.

best,
