Just got these AE cues.
Apparently AE is finished building cues, I chalked one shaft to try them out.
Nice playing cues, not the more traditional stuff I typically buy, however the other
two AE cues are Titlist conversions, which was why I was interested in the package in the first place

Oof I love that box cue with the slotted diamonds. Let me crack open the piggy bank and start piling pennies up, I'll have this in a few decades!

Beautiful....kind of classic with fun ring work

They're fun to play with too.
The hit is just like the other AE cues I've had
over the years.
Terrific playing cues, not stiff at all if you like stiff hitters.

Ae

Ebony on Ebony, the best combo to begin with and then add those veneered rectangular boxes in the butt end, that's a home run. Great looking cues.

Thank you. I have the same opinion.
Typically I go after the more traditional cues, but AE is a local cuemaker, I've owned several and these are the nicest ones yet.
They are not the most valuable but up there for sure.

how much do those cues weigh?

I actually bought 4 of these
The shaft range from 13.0 to 13.3, monster shafts weighing over 4 ounces
The shafts are all interchangeable and the butt's are 15.5+/-

Around 19.5
I chalked one shaft and like all AE cues the hit is fantastic.
I've have many AE cues over the last 15-years, 20+.
The playability should be good as they were originally $5000 & $5500 cues.

so around 19.5 total weight. Nice! I recently inquired with a cuemaker about all ebony and he told me 19.5 would be hard to hit with ebony because it is heavy.

Uncored, all ebony, 19.5 is basically impossible to achieve. If cored, it is quite easy to reach 19.5

I've always preferred cored cues vs uncored
Besides the warpage issues with uncored, I like the cored hit better.
I don't know much about it but I think the wood choice with a uncored cue would be really important.
Also I don't think I would like the hit of an uncored ebony cue.
That's just me, many people prefer the uncored hit, but most modern short spliced cues seem to be cored.
