His was called, the L88 Package. Engine, suspension and so on. Could have been a bit of BS with the price and so on also. been 40 years since then.
All I remember, one evening, taking it out on a secondary highway, at approx 150 to 160 mph, I couldn't see the country side view all that well, and the lines on the road looked like one long line, instead of dots.
Makes you wonder what Fighter pilots see at low level exercises, cause, pretty sure they are doing in excess of 160 mph.

The L88 was one of the most impressive motors made back in the day. Not too many cars were made with that motor, around 200 or so for a three year run. They faked the horsepower, claiming it had 430. When put on a dyno it was near 600, it was too powerful for the common man to own. James Garner raced them and won the 24 hours of Le Mans.
I had one of the motors that started life thru the parts department, an over the counter L88 motor. I had it in a 69 Z28 for a while. At 6,000 rpm most cars need to be shifted to the next gear, not the L88, it was just getting started.
When you could buy a reground crankshaft for a 427 for under $200, an L88 capable Crank was around $1200. That's a very fine line for quality. Combine that with the solid lifter camshaft, you could hit the real hi rpms. With the all Aluminum heads and intake, it weighed in like a small block.
I never went as fast as you did with that motor. I did with another car a few years ago, it came out of 4th gear at 145 mph with enough torque to press you into the seat. I took a photo of the speedometer at 153 mph, I was under the impression that it was speed limited at 155 mph, I found out later it was limited at 186 mph. I had an 03 Z06 vette and the L88 was faster.
Hard to believe that I have not had any tickets since 1984.
