I'm looking to buy a Schon, I already have a McDaniel and i just wanted some input. How does a McDaniel hit compared to a Schon? How are the cues similar and how are they different?
I couldn't disagree more. Every McDaniel i have owned has been stiffer than any Schon I have owned. They aren't really comparable IMO
Give me a McDaniel anyday over a Schon
The shorter the taper the stiffer the hit. According to the Blue Book of Pool Cues, Schon Cues have an 8-10 inch taper. Mcdaniel Cues have a 12 inch pro taper. Of course some of the older McDaniel cues had a different taper. They also had a longer steal joint than the newer models. The newer or more recent cues were developed by Bill through collaboration with Nick Varner and Ginky. They have been regarded as some of the best playing cues on the planet.
