I think there are too many players

I believe that in 2015 there are significantly more than 64 players deserving of a main tour place and a return to what would in my view be a relatively closed shop (a boys club as Hearn would say), would be a regressive step for a sport looking to demonstrate growth

My comment from the cheap seats:
The Euro tournament this week starts today but Eurosport and LiveWorldSnooker coverage doesn't start until Friday.
Three qualifying rounds - no prize money.

A player could win three qualifying matches, lose in the first round and collect nothing.
Losing in the second round gets £525.
Really tough financial reality for most players.
How could a challenge tour be a worse financial proposition for these players?
And if they made the transition to the main tour, financial rewards would at least make the travel more tolerable.
