In what order would you rank weight for 9-ball from least weight to most? Just as far as it is interesting to describe. Does it change if you’re a runout player versus you’re just a better banger?

-1) Call 9
0) Wild 9
1) Last 2
2) Call 8
3) Wild 8
4) Game on the wire
5) Alternate Breaks
6) Call 7
7) Two on the wire
8) Wild 7
9) Last 3
...
X) Wild 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and the breaks

Depends on skill level. For 2 C players, the 8 will be bigger than a game on the wire. For 2 top pros, the 8 will be almost nothing.

You listed "alternate breaks" and were trying to establish a ranking system. It seems like this should fit in your ranking somewhere.

If you are worried about considering two C players or two A players, maybe you need two ranking columns....
Two C's or two A's radically changes the thinking of your entire ranking column....something like wild 8, etc. also goes from very low to the nuts, etc......

The safe 8 is if you make the 8 and miss the 9 you cant lose its a push. Its a great way to match up for two players of almost equal skill,but need just a nudge to play.

in a race to 1000 a game on the wire is nearly meaningless, its all relative
