Asheeeeat. An event every 2 months?

I would not expect anyone other than a drug trafficker could make a living, keeping those hours.

Pretty much.

As an example:

The Eurotour is great, but its not possible for players to earn a living from their winnings alone (i.e. they need sponsorshop and/or to compete in other events too).
They're European aka SOCIALISTS. They all live off the system. Pool is just a hobby that pays for their weed-buying trips to Amsterdam. I'm actually kinda jealous, sounds pretty good if it wasn't for the crappy weather 10mos. out of the yr.

Really? I assumed that most of them just come from wealthy families.

Ha, I don't think so!

Some may be of course, but the Eurotour is made up of hobbyist players, semi-pro players (i.e. they have a non-pool playing job too) and full time pro's who also compete in other events around the world.

So it looks like the only way a player from Europe can make over $40k a year is travel to the states or hit the big one in China. Be a shame if we had a national tour for U.S players only and no green cards. I know, I'm starting to sound like Trump. Johnnyt

Well I think european players are just good in marketing themselves as pros.
Take the pricemoney, add sponsorships, the salaries they get for competing in leagues, exhibitions and sports fundings and you can make quite a nice living from it.

Add on sponsorship, government funding programs, the big tournaments outside Europe, and it doesn't matter so much. The golden goose on Eurotour is the points leader at the end of the season gets a Mosconi spot (that's a pretty much guaranteed $20K these days if you are on the Europe side :p)

Yeah, they do look very classy. If you can market yourself the right way, then you may not even need to be pro caliber, in order to get a good sponsor.
