I was originally going to buy a new connelly san carlos.

after reading here about the benefit of used tables.

I found this table through a fellow AZB member

this is an Olhausen laurel.
made from late 1980 early 1990.
i couldnt find anything about this table online. Not I single pic.
manufacter yrs were provided through an olhausen rep.

I am getting hung up on these legs. I really dont like how there are glued together vertically from pieces of wood.

also one pocket looks uneven to me.

I'll pass, unless you are just in love with that furniture style.

Bud from work had a new 8ft Olhausen delivered and installed complete for 3200 I think. He's not liking the cloth and that it plays like buckets.

It is a matter of priorities.

In this price range you can buy a Gold Crown. If you don't like the appearance of a Gold Crown and your budget doesn't allow for an Anniversary or a Centennial, then you go for a furniture style table.

Before choosing to go with an Olhausen however, I would recommend you do some searching here for info on Olhausen tables as they play differently than Gold Crowns or Diamonds.

Take a pass if you are a semi serious player, as suggested, get a used gold crown, use Simonis 860 and Superspeed rubber, choose your pockets.
good luck.

I assumed because it is a reputable company play-ability wouldn't be an issue.
just gives me more to thing about

It's not so much about reputable company in this case. It's just that the price is a little high. As others have mentioned for that money you can get into a GoldCrown and never look back. I bought mine for $1200 and just cleaned it up.

Hey there IceManFred... if you like that table & you enjoy it, way to go. I have a very similar Table & I can take my practice to the Pool Hall. I did have a Table mechanic do the setup, tighten the pockets & so no.

Again... Congratulations.

Oh, by the way. If you decide you want different legs, I'm sure you can find some that will fit & ad to the beauty of your table.
