640 from the front into the 750 an inch or so
same as a step core in my opinion

Very cool. I guess it essentially does end up the same as a stepped core.

I am a fan of stepped cores. I don't know why except it seems to make sense to me.

Is this something you have been doing or something new?

I simply must comment further.

It is a merry widow as you say, but so much more. Your design work is beautiful. I love the joint collar with the matched grain. And of course the matching JPs to boot.

It isn't simply a merry widow. Obviously a lot more work went into it than just a typical merry widow. But you didn't just embellish it with fancy rings and such, you used the beauty of the wood with some simple black rings. And now we know what's inside it is special too. To do so much with a merry widow without just throwing fancy rings on it is true artistry.

I keep coming back to it and imagining how it feels.

This thing has serious player written all over it.
