I recently acquired some wood from a furniture maker for what appears to be a really good price. Even if it doesn't turn into cues they can be some really nice shelves.
My question is: How do you go about evaluating a board for cue blanks, and then how do you choose where to cut?
For reference, these are straight grain walnut slabs, a little bigger than 6/4.
