With all do respect. I know there are many wonderful cuemakers out there using CNC for inlay work. Unfortunately I seem to be getting bored of all of the trinkets being thrown onto cues lately. Im a fan of machining. I feel It has improved the quality of cues and the pace at which they are made. I am however not as interested in the amount of gold inlays or special jewels someone puts on them. With that being said, I am a huge fan of Tonkins work, as well as many other cue builders and would love to have one of there cues proudly displayed in my home. In this particular case Im looking for a cue that has been built with the hit in mind. 20+ years ago I was a high school punk with a Schon in my case and not knowing better, all I wanted was more and more ivory. I hit a Southwest cue at a tournament and right then I figured out that the quality of a cue is equal to the the sum of its parts, not the amount of Ivory that has been thrown into it. I still have that Schon, but I have never forgot what that Southwest felt like. Now Im trying to find someone who can build me something that feels as good and Im proud to own. Sorry for the long winded explanation. G
