XTC Ferrule Questions

Greetings all,

Can any Cue Makers please give their opinion on the hit, feel, qualities, density between Micarta, XTC Ferrule materials.

I have had shafts with 1" Juma ferrules but that was a few years ago and going to short 1/2" ferule shaft and have never hit or maintained XTC and which am considering. Presently my player has a 1" Micarta Ferrule.

Probably been discussed before here but did a search and nothing coming up.

Hey Dave,

I have a Schmelke shaft with a 1 inch XTC ferrule so I can tell you about the hit. It has a soft and smooth hit similar to a Meucci ferrule. Characteristics of XTC: light-weight, soft, vibration absorbing, more of a ferrule hit than a crisp wood hit.
