Rule question

What is the rule if you are touching a color ball, say blue for example, and you must hit a lower color ball, say yellow (all the reds are gone). Can you just shoot away and not have a foul?

Thanks

You must shoot away from the touching ball but you must hit the lowest color ball with the cue ball or else it is a foul.

If you are in a touching ball situation you can play away from that ball and there is no foul. If you are touching the blue after potting the last red you must touch the yellow ball. If you play away from the blue and touch another ball that is a foul also In snooker a touching ball is always deemed to have touched that ball.

in a touching ball situation, no matter which balls are touching, you always have to play away or else it's a push shot (foul). if your cue is touching the ball on, you simply have to play away from it, you're automatically considered to have struck the ball-on.
