Well I'm sorry to report that last night someone broke into my car AT HOME, and stole my case and cues. I feel like I've just been violated!~

Hills Cue 07 full splice
Jerico "Whip" J/B
Bungee Jump cue
Brown Lizard Whitten 2x4

I live just north of Dallas, Tx so these cues could end up anywhere!
I filed the appropriate reports and have called all the Pawn shops. Maybe they'll turn up but I'm not holding my breath. Other stuff was stolen but the cues are all I really care about.

If anyone sees them for sale I'd sure appreciate a "heads up"

Ouch

Sorry man. I know that feeling. It sucks more than the loss of your cues. And that's my favorite Whitten case design too! Bastards. Hope you recover all your gear and the burglars get whats coming to them.

Luck to you man

Post this in the stolen cues section in the trader section as well there's a sticky for 'em.

That's awful, I pray you get them back and the coward thieves get whats coming to them.

will keep an eye out for them, If someone trys to sell them to me, I will buy them for you,
Sorry to hear about you lose.

hate it for ya, BUT, it might be covered by insurance...check it out
It would be worth a try. One time my golf clubs were stolen out of my car and my homeowners insurance payed for them. They said since they were usually keep in my house, they were covered even though they were in my car at the time.

I'm just south of Houston and will keep an eye out for them- sorry it happened to you!

More stolen cues find their way home than any other stolen item in my experience.

If you are not familiar with what you should do from here, do some searches on this site-Lots of good advice out there.

Well the word is out!

I hope whoever stole my cues decides to "try them out". I have alerted just about everyone I know. I just spent my lunch hour going around to EVERY pawn shop within 30 miles and dropped off pics and info. Hopefully someone will decide to sell them.

If I were in your shoes and I wanted to get those cues and case back, I would put a sign in my front yard for all to see that says, "REWARD FOR CUE STICKS AND CASE (brief description). NO QUESTIONS ASKED."

I tend to think whoever did it must be local, since it happened right at your home. Probably juveniles scanning the neighborhood.

We have received notices from the police department to never leave anything within eyesight inside our vehicles. Lots of night burglars scour the neighborhood breaking into cars for anything that looks like they can sell and get quick bucks for.

A sign in front of your house for all to see may be noticed by the night-time burglars. They could send a friend or relative to collect the reward. It sucks to have to pay to get your beloved cues and case back, but if it works, it's worth it.

Also, I'd leave a cell number for the prospective reward seekers. Then when you meet them, do so in a public place like a McDonald's. Come with a friend and don't meet them alone.

Just a suggestion. If they're car break-in thieves, this strategy might work. They're looking to make a quick buck.

I'm sorry this happened to you. :sorry:

IMO, never keep any valuables in you car day or night. The rats have matured and are not scared of the sun anymore. We have our work place parking lot broke into about 3-4 times a year. These rats are not scared of being seen.

I just don't get why people leave cues in their car? Guess it's personal choice.

It's like having a big pile of cash sitting in the back seat. Eventually someone is going to take it.

there's not much to "get"...Most of the time I take them in. But since I live in a pretty nice neighborhood at the end of a culdasac, and there's basically NO traffic or casual passers-by, I haven't been too concerned. I'm just lucky like that I guess

You can claim your cues under your home owners insurance policy for personal property. It seems as you have good pictures to prove your ownership, but any receipts or credit card statements will help as well. Find a local cue dealer who can write you a receipt for the value of the cue, and if possible inflate their worth. The insurance company will only give you the depreciation amount, not the actual cash value until you have replaced the items and show them the purchase price.

I have had my cues stolen twice out of my truck, and one of the times I watched it happen out of my office window. (Guess I will never learn) But the most important part is do not tell the insurance company that you play tournaments, or gamble or make any profit from playing pool. They will insist that you should have picked up a business policy and they will not cover the cues as they see it as a business asset. I had them tell me this when my cues were stolen last June, I had been fighting with them for 9 months and finally get paid in April.

Good luck to you, there is nothing worse in this world then a thief.

I live on the south side of the DFW area - and if I see them down here, I will definately let you know. Good luck -
Dan
