Thank you for the plctures. That is a very well set-up poolroom. Johnnyt

Yeah, it's a very nice room with very good food, GREAT tables, cute waitresses and lotsa action....there is also a large upstairs area kinda like a mezzanine that looks down on the main room, super nice with a little bigger pockets for the accuracy impaired. Lots of outdoor patio space and a zillion TV's.....even valet parking...very Hollywood.....:)

Those pictures are GREAT. I can't wait to show them to my boyfriend. He's been there before, I think.

The coolest pictures for me were the close-up of Ronnie Allen and seeing Jose Parica snoozing with his hands in the prayer position. :grin-square:

Thanks for sharing those pictures. I think they are absolutely stupendous!

JAM

Jam,

I actually thought of you when I was posting them....:) I remember you talkin' about bein' up late to post pictures yourself, and I know you love photos....I'm glad you got a peek at them.

I'm out of town until late tomorrow, but I hope to get there to snap a few pics at the end.

Take care,

Joe

Hollywood Billiards Hollywood Jack 1 Pkt Memorial.

JAM I wish you would get Keith to get on here and say a few words about Hollywood Jack. As a young man I know Keith, Cole Dickson, Jimmy Reid, Richie Florence, etc. used to be around Hollywood Billiards on Western. Jack owned the place and ran it. He is said to help out a lot of pool players in his time and up and coming stars of the game. He was a top action guy in his time and beat a lot of the old time pros for the cash. I was just lucky to meet him in the tail end of his most colorful life.

In the 10th pic from the bottom, the moustacheod man RA is looking at is the great Ernie G of Gina cues. A classy guy.

Hahaha, "10th pic from the bottom", also sometimes referred to as the 1st picture in the thread....:)

Ernie is a GREAT guy, along with bein' a lengendary cue maker. His mechanical/machining/engineering skills extend well beyond cues as well. He designs and builds amazing machines in his shop for his cuemaking and many other applications. He has designed and built parts and systems for world class racing teams and a host of other enterprises. If you have a problem in wood or metal, Ernie can prob'ly find and build the solution.

And as for the "other" guy in the picture, someone should start a Ronnie Allen thread, it wouldn't surprise me if it rivaled the size of the funny Gif picture thread...:)

There is....only it's all underwater. Right in front of the Casino is some of the best diving anywhere. The underwater Kelp Forrest has to be seen to be believed. Did my first open water dive there. Man was it COLD...68 degree water.

Great Pics

Great pics Joe. I think Ronnie is asking Ernie for a Jelly Roll for putting Ginacue on the map in the 60s. The Ernie look I recognize very well, it's that "WTF is this guy talking about" look Ernie always gets on his face when I start telling him how to build cues.

Thanks for some great pics.

Kevin

The close-up pictures are awesome. I like the candid photos. They're the best. Thanks for your consideration.

We really appreciate seeing some of the old-timers too. Poor old guy looked like he had to hire someone to hold his cue.
OLD TIMER

Appreciation rep coming your way.
