IT was Worth it. Paul Dayton Cue for sale:

As you may have known in my other thread that I wanted to trade my Meucci for this Paul Dayton Cue. I thought about all your comments and I made the trade. I got home an few minutes ago and here she is for sale. So, I answered my own question, it was well worth it.

Paul Dayton Leather wrapped cue.
What I know about the cue, since I just got it a few minutes ago.

1. It appears to be Ebony wood or some sort of dark wood.
2. Real Leather wrap
3. Nice gold or goldish rings.
4 2 Shafts are straight and true. One has been played, used, while the other one is quite clean and use seems to be minimal.
On the newer looking shaft, there is a small word "Gonzales" which I assume was customized. It looks like it was written with a thin Sharpie marker, and there is a clear coat over it. I the previous owner had it customized, you can probably sand down the shaft as well as the name. But if you're last name is Gonzales, well, you won't believe what I have for ya! =)

5. I rolled the cue together and apart on at the pool hall and It was fairly straight. I took it home and rolled it using my mirrored glass technique and the butt has a slight roll to it, but the two shafts are perfect according to my standards. It's a very minor roll and the tip doesn't leave the table when rolled. It doesn't effect the performance at all. I didn't notice much when I rolled it on a pool table at the pool hall. It's a great hitting cue with usage characteristics. Besides that, the cue hits great and it could use a Refinish anyway because of the knicks and chips, I am just a perfectionist and can't make up my mind.

Please view the pictures:

6. 3 matching Joint Protectors are included.

I don't know what to ask for the cue so I'll let you gentlemen/Ladies make offers. Please PM me.

Asking $450. But willing to Deal. Or Trade ????????

Well, I am getting the hang of this camcorder. I guess I just needed better lighting: ::::::::It's a truely beautiful cue as it is. Appearance as well as function. Throw me offers, before I decide to send it to proficient billiards. I emailed them for a quote and waiting reply tomorrow.

I know #Refinish cue with 1 shaft is $80
#clean and seal shaft is $15-20
According to their Repair worksheet.

So tempted to keep it. Come on. Tomorrow morning if Proficient billiards emails me back with a quote $150- $200 I may change my mind.

PM offers.

Proficient will for sure be under $200 even with 2 shafts I believe.

The cue has a slight very minimal wobble in the butt and I am just a perfectionist. When the cue butt rolled with the shafts together on the pool table it is not even worth mentioning. The cue hits great and has signs of use. It is a superb Shooter/ Player cue.

I PMed Mr. Paul Dayton and he's such a nice fella. This is a direct quote from Mr. Dayton on a description of the cue and I also asked upon fixing the slight wobble which I don't think is necessary but it is paranoia for me when I shoot.
"
Hi Duce,

The cue is ebony, as you thought. Judging by the rings I built this cue between 1999 and 2002 . The white phenolic joint and butt cap is Grise phenolic
a material that is no longer available.

To fix the wobble would involve putting on a new handle and leather wrap which costs $250.

I didn't make many cues with these brass, ebony rings and they originally would have cost $800 with the leather wrap

Hope this helps.
Paul."

So I would guess, you can buy the cue as it is and play with it, or restore it. Either way, it's a hell of a deal.

I would like $450.. Paypal. SHIPPED ConUS. Priority. Shipping would cost me $15 and paypal would charge $6 bucks or so, I am looking to get $375 at least on my part. Which is very fair.
Have international offers but not willing to ship outside the U.S.

The 2 shafts alone are worth $200-300, I assume. NO ONE??? Come on.

$400. Priority + Insured. ConUs

Great to have my Digital Camera bACK!! WOOHOO! It's been hectic without it.

Well here are 3 videos. Butt Roll, Shafts roll, and Cue rolled with shaft.

There is a light wobble and it is rolled on a granite counter top. If rolled on a pool table I think it's more forgiving. The Wobble isn't that bad with the shaft on at all. I guess I am just paranoid and a perfectionist and playing with a cue that is a little wobbly would haunt me. The wobble is the middle of the butt or forearm and I esitmate 1/16" to 1/8" roll. However with the shafts on the cue, the tip never leaves the granite counter top.

That's as much information as I can describe. Do not expect a super perfect cue, expect and great hitting cue with usage characteristics. And all that is stated are true and to the best of my knowlege.

$395 Shipped. PAUL DAYTON ! 2 Shafts! W/ Joint Protectors! ConUs. Great deal!

"dude send it to proficent and then to ebay! or just put it on ebay! these guys here are great but want to steal a cue "

The cue is going to Proficient billiards and ebay. Too many talkers and not many Chalkers.
