I am looking for information on Oliver Stops . He is or was a cue maker from Germany. I've read a short bio in the Blue book of Cues, but can not find examples of his cues. What brought my curosity about, is a Oliver Stops cue and spare shaft for sale with a extended bridge and cue case for 350.00. In the Blue book the logo is "OS Original" on the butt. This cue just has a logo of "OS" on the butt. The cue has 4 points and approx 20 inlays. Any information anybody can provide would be most apperciated...........Charlie D

Oliver Stops is/was a chemist of sorts who played around with plastics. He made a cue that was mostly plastic. Over the years he had many experimental compositions. Some of the cues actually played pretty nicely.

Don't know if he is still active or not.

He was from Germany, and a friend when living in Seattle who work in a Room up there sold a lot of his Cues. My friend John sold his cues, and the only example I saw looked like it was made of a RESIN Material, and an Art Deco Design not wood. That Cue is now some where in Phoenix.
