Contest: Your Chance for FREE US Open Qualifier Entry - deadline Sept 21

akaTrigger

Hi!
Silver Member
FREE Contest: Your Chance for FREE US Open Qualifier Entry (TX/FL)- deadline Sept 21

Okay, tell me why YOU should get a free entry into the US Open Qualifier at Clicks in Dallas on September 27th OR the US Open Qualifier at Snookers in Tallahassee, FL Sept 27th.

I will consider replies ONLY posted on this thread. No pms or emails to try and win me over. :p

I want to support the game I love and I think these qualifiers are great ideas!

To make it fair, b/c the entry fee for the Qualifier in Dallas is lower, I will pay for (2) $50 entries in Dallas and (1) $100 entry in Tallahassee. I will send the monies to the respective Tournament Directors on Sept 22nd along with the name of the winner(s).

Therefore, the deadline is September 21st at 11pm Eastern to reply to this thread and explain why you should get a free entry in the Qualifier.

If I can't decide on my own, I will have fellow poster MILO help me on the decision. Because I know a lot of Texas and Florida peeps, this way it wont seem like I'm playing favorites!

Stipulations: If the person does not show up, I would like to request that I get my money back from the TD. That's it. :)

I will be helping run and also be playing in the OB Cues Ladies Tour Stop that same weekend in Arlington, TX. I hope the three free entrants to the US Open Qualifiers do well!

(I know I'm gonna get questions why I picked these two events and not others, but I saw them advertise most in the Tournament section of the forums and know both of the TDs).

The window is now open! Good luck!

P.S. Please ensure you state in your post which Qualifier location you would attend.
P.S. S. If this thread is in the wrong forum, I will gladly ask the mods to move it.

Thank you for your support...

Melinda,

I want to thank you for stepping up and putting your money where your mouth is. You have my word, if the player isn't able to make it to the qualifier, I will send you back the money order. If you make it out in your name and send it, then it will be easier to return.

I would think that your generosity will be taken in the spirit it was given and the player will come to the event and play the best game he has.

Again, my heartfelt thanks to you. your kindness makes all of us a little better.

Dwight

edit: First lol

Are all AZer's this fantastic? I can't believe I took so long to come around to joining. How I wish I lived closer! :) Alas, I'm in the Midwest though. I just wanted to say, thanks for supporting the game and the players! n

Thanks for helping me out, Milo. Of course, if no one replies to this post, I guess we can go to a REALLY nice dinner sometime instead. ;) LOL

Come on people! Tell us why you want to play in the Qualifiers! :clapping: :yeah:

A list of reasons why I should be given the free entry into this tournament!

1. Unemployment is at it's highest rate in 20 years, I've sent out a good resume to over 50 companies and have heard nothing over 4 months!

2. As a result of my unemployment (or vice versa) have spent about 4 hours a day 6 days a week for the last year playing pool.

3. Between the US Amateur on Sept. 20, the Texas Open, and my daily pool hall tabs, I am considering not playing this tournament simply because of financial reasons.

4. You probably have no idea who the hell I am and can't be accused of picking favorites!

I want to play the Dallas tournament!

Okay, tell me why YOU should get a free entry into...

This is why you are a pool-goddess!!

I guess I'll have to teach Tony how to use a computer before the 21st so he can throw his hat into this! Unless I can plead his case for him... I need to go to the OB Tour Stop and Charlie and the Sherman Guys have talked him into going to this!! Which means I'll be all alone at Rusty's!! And I'll be shark bait... wait, we were talking about Tony, not me. :D

My point... Melinda you ROCK!

LOL! Now that's funny! That's your only reason? After how much I had to carry you, you still say that? LOL! j/k... 5th last year and then 4th this year in the Scotch Open in Vegas in May ain't too bad.... but I think you will need to list more reasons to have a chance at this free entry.

btw - nice website!

Entries Won are Twice As Sweet As Entries Paid

Hmmmm, lets see?

1. Because I need a reason to drive up to Dallas
2. Because I play better under pressure
3. Because I have nothing else to do that weekend
4. Because you know me

There, that should do it. So what time do I play :D

I'm too far away to count. But, if that is your dad in your avatar, it explains your great generosity here... You're Santa Clauses daughter!

LOL! When we used to go to grocery store together last year and he'd be in his wheelchair, some of the kids would have enough spirit to shyly ask him why he wasn't on his reindeer sled. It was cute. He would rub their heads, lean in, and whisper to them. I never asked him what he said - it was their secret.

But, I tell you what, it made his day!

Thanks for the memory, Neil!

.....

Milo and I are still ready to hear more reasons for a free entry. We don't want to make anyone feel uncomfortable, so please don't feel obligated to share rough/tough stories.... that's not what this is about.

I am just trying to help out AZB friends. I am sure anyone with a tough story that wants a chance to play for free, will be able to provide many other reasons why they want to play in the US Open.

9 days left for this contest,

Thank you, Ann! :)

That did cross my mind about those not on AZB. All I can say is, if he wants to sign up to the forums, let me know his login so we can put him on the fast track to get him approved to post on the forums. :)

Melinda,

Here are my reasons why I should be selected!

1) I have a genuine love for the game and I truly believe that I play better against better competition.

2) Playing the US Open is something that I want to do before I get too old and can't see anymore!

3) I have this inner urge to compete at the highest level possible and am striving everyday to become a better player. I believe this experience would benefit me on the road to becoming a better player.

I probably had no business going to play the texas open, but I went and wouldn't trade that experience for anything. That experience makes me want to play more and get better! Thanks for giving back to the game Melinda!

Awe-some... he's on his way home, I'll help him set up when he gets here. Teaching/showing him how to use this forum will be interesting... there's no bricks, he'll have trouble "building" his case. (get it??? "building" his case?? he's a brick-layer? I need some sleep...)

:D

Gosh, I cant believe the lack of response. FREE ENTRYS GUYS!!!!!!!:)
