I want to buy a high end Scruggs cue before it is gone, so this jewel must go on the block!

Why did you start another thread for the exact same cue??

Oh! Let me guess - You didn't like the responses you got in the other thread?

You can run, but you can't hide.

same seller. same reputation. Same over-priced cue. New thread. Great.

How can asking for reasonable offers be over priced? and may I comment that if you don't like the price, dont buy, but also don't post negative comments in some one elses post, Do I even know you Von?

If you have nothing nice to say you probably shouldn't say anything at all.

People that do deals with Phil myself, and many others on the board, know his tendancies to be a little indecisive, or just one of those customers that require a bit of extra work.

Also last I saw Phil wanted like $1400 or somthing. How is that overpriced? The cue is in the same league as a Bluegrass or a Tascarella ($1875 or offer)that is currently for sale here on the board. Maybe your out of touch.....

First off I want to say that I do hope you get what your looking for out of this cue, it IS very nice! That said, I do think $1400.00 Is on the high side for a PJ, no matter how great the cue, JMHO! I realize that you were/are fielding offers, not asking a set price, and I hope your sale goes well.
Respectfully.

That's a very pretty cue - I love the blackwood/curly pairing. And for what it's worth, I took out my Sugar sneaky last night for some play time and it reminded me all over again why I bought it. Price be damned, these are great hitting cues. Good luck with the sale.

It's not my cue it's Phil's . His asking price is perfectly in line with what cues of this caliber have been trading for ....It is only his asking price . You never know what somene may be willing to take especially when making an all cash offer which seems to be pretty rare these days. Everybody is trying to do trades plus or minus a little cash. Just a sign of our economic times.

Very nice cue.

Agreed. The economy is in the Sh!#$er, and it is definitely a buyers market. Also agreed, the cue is beautiful, and I have heard nothing but great things about Mr. Crisps' Sugartrees. Love his cues! Hate his signature! LOL!! I remember Arnold Palmer once saying that if you were going to take the time to sign something for someone, make sure they can read the damn thing! LOL! Keep the sugarbabies coming! They are killer cues! Good luck with your sale, I do hope you get a reasonable offer.
Regards.

Signing on a curved surface i guess has its challenges. But i personally think the signature of sugartrees are quite unique.

YOU SERIOUSLY WANT TO BE TIED IN WITH PHIL?

P.S. ERIC MAKES A GREAT CUE, BUT HIS MARKET IS NOT WHAT PETE'S IS. YOU KNOW THAT AS WELL AS I DO.

Yup

Bash me, Jamie, Phil, Tank and anyone else that has the money to do as we please. It will change nothing. We will buy and sell as we please.
Cues are not about money to alot of AZers Mr Marcus. Maybe that is why you have a hard time with anything selling for a good price being compared with a Tas.
It is possable to have great respect for many cue makers and builders. Where anyone chooses to make claims and put their money where there heart is can be subjective. But buyers not sellers will always determine a value for anything. The subjectivity you proclaim might be very true. But buying cues has little to do with anything but what the buyer is looking for.
I am down to 6 choice cues these days and may sell a couple of them but my buying days may be over. I might sell one Scruggs and one Cochran and one Rauenzahn sooner or later. I will keep One Scruggs and one Rauenzahn and Cochran. They were all guifts.
I am looking at buying a cue that was made for me a few years back by Timi but am in no hurry and I can live with or without it. If I ever see my old Balabushka I will jam it down the throat of whoever is holding it. It was stolen.
Every one knows Pete makes a great cue. There will always be comparisons. If Pete made a cue for me I would pay for it and never sell it.
I should be so lucky.
Nick :)

SO FIRST YOU MAKE YOUR POST ABOUT "HAVING THE MONEY TO DO AS YOU PLEASE", BUT THEN YOU TELL ME IT'S NOT ABOUT MONEY...... YOU MAKE NO SENSE. DO YOU WANT TO MAKE THIS CONVERSATION ABOUT MONEY?

MY OTHER QUESTION IS...... WHY IS IT OK THAT YOU CAN PROCLAIM HOW GREAT PHIL IS, AND SHARE YOUR FEELINGS, BUT WHEN OTHERS SHARE THEIR FELLINGS ABOUT HIM IT'S NOT FAIR?

I HAVE GREAT RESPECT FOR ERIC, WE HAVE STUFF IN THE WORKS TOGETHER, MY STATEMENT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HIM, IT WAS MY FELLINGS ON A STATEMENT THAT WAS MADE. OF COURSE BUYERS SET THE MARKET FOR VALUE, I HAD 3 GUYS CALLING ME ABOUT THAT TASCARELLA AN HOUR AFTER I POSTED THE PICS AND I WASN'T EVEN THE ONE SELLING IT.

YOU CAN HAVE AS MANY CUES AS YOU PLEASE, THAT DOESN'T MATTER TO ME, NOR DO I CARE WHAT YOU HAVE. I ASKED A QUESTION TO A RESPECTED CUE DEALER, TO SEE WHAT HIS RESPONSE WAS, I DIDN'T ASK YOU ANYTHING. I ALREADY KNOW YOU DON'T MIND BEING ASSOCIATED WITH PHIL.

MY POST MIGHT MAKE NO SENSE BUT THAT'S BECAUSE I'M NOT SURE WHERE YOUR POST WAS COMING FROM, OR WHAT IT HAD TO DO WITH MY POST, OR EVEN WHAT IT MEANT, BUT I FELT I HAD TO RESPOND.

P.S. SORRY YOUR BUSHKA WAS STOLEN, THAT BLOWS. I MAY EVEN HELP JAM IT DOWN THE GUYS THROAT.

Marcus,

I was mearly posting my personal dealings with Phil. I think we have done 3-5 deals roughly. Some were extreamly smooth and a few had some bumps in the road but ALL ended on a happy note.

I really like the Tasc and think that the price on that cue is very fair as well. It is actually the only non-pointed cue I have ever seen done by him . I would guess that would make it somewhat rare and therfore command a premium.

My point was to the poster that I was addressing was that just because a cue has a plain forearm doesn't necessarilly make it worth less . It's more about WHO made it.

I hope this clarify's my position,

Matt S.
