I have not received a cue damaged when packed this way. I received it fast when sent via USPS EMS International. The shipping cost was $37.75 for a 2lb 11oz package. This was shipped Oct 30 in the morning and was received by Nov 3rd morning as well. 4-days including weekends. Not bad at all.

People sending cues to international buyers, please be aware.

Teaser... The cue I received is topnotch. I'll leave it to the owner to post the pix. ;)

I like a few layers of insulation, bubble wrap, expanded foam, something to insure no quick temperature changes that can cause problems with adhesives. Shipping by air things can go from very hot to very cold in a hurry and I have had glued joints fail under those conditions.

i've heard of cues shipped this way. i usually just wrap the cue with bubble wrap and ship it on a monday (so it's not stored anywhere for the weekend) and i haven't had a problem. i think the next cue i ship will be packed like this though. looks pretty well protected

Airlines/TSA thefts

I've had custom knives and shoes stolen from TSA locked baggage on 2 different airlines. I always Express Mail my cue
to myself and have never had a problem. Packed inside my case and insulated with bubble wrap.

Its the right way

Thats how I ship the cues I've sold. I sometimes need to cut the tube to fit and I always use Express mail.

Of course the cue was bubble wrapped inside the tube. The tube was cut to fit and adds more protection. This is the best way to have a cue shipped and have peace of mind.

Yep- that's the way to ship overseas (and how I always recommend cues be packed before they're shipped to me in Thailand).:)

The big winner in the packing department goes to Bamacues, though, who actually shipped my Gilbert in a pvc tube that would probably have withstood being run over by the delivery truck.

Nothing beats a tube (cardboard or pvc) for safety.
