Springfield has some of the best tournaments around...I used to live there!! Maybe I can make it up if there isn't any snow...
 
bar box? or 9fts? and how many players are you guys going to let in this....Better yet is pool still what it was up there 5 years ago?

Glad to hear from someone who's played in Springfield before! Our pool scene is still pretty good, but an outsider is always welcome of course. I'm sure I could get you into some action if you wanted, but don't expect a great "score" as this wonderful economy has limited the matches most people are playing to $50 or $100/set. :(

I have to be honest on the tourney info as well that so far I have not gotten any word on if there will be added money put into the tournament by it's host room. I'm personally trying to make some things happen within the Springfield pool playing community through pushing for more opportunities to hold tournaments. I'm promoting and directing this one myself free of charge in hopes that the present owner and management will see what can happen if someone actually puts forth the effort to hold an event and get the information out to as wide an audience as possible. Also, there is absolutely NO limit on the number of entries we will be accepting. The more the merrier! :) I believe the last one we had pulled in somewhere between 42 or 48 players, most were local.

Once again, thanks for noticing this thread Zach. I know it's quite a trip for you all the way from Texas, but if by chance your in the area I'd love to have you join us!

Is Stevie, Clint, and Jeff still hanging around...? I worked at Sir Gregs when I was up there , but from what I heard they were shut down for tax fraud or something..Sas moved down here from up there so I know Darren is still around..anyways I'll see what I can do..
 
Yeah, all of us are still around. Steve and Clint are down in Pensacola right now working a contract job and trying to get the best of they're locals on the tables. They are both supposed to be back soon, hopefully in time for this tournament. Darren is still hittin' 'em of course and I expect he'll be showing up. Jeff is in hiding and coming in very erratically, but still likes to gamble. :) Best of luck to ya bro, hope you make it up our way sometime soon.

I do believe that myself and one of my friends will b coming down again this year. He was asking about it last week. Last year we went to St. Louis and played a "big" bar table tournament. We live right in between. I will put the word out around here (Rolla area) about your tournament. See you on the 29th.

Sam are you guys going to have a calcutta? Also I can't remember the guys name, but he owned a fin and feather shop or something...always used to stake stevie and those guys...is he still around...big tall guy...I think his name was Mooney

Phil, the owner of Billiards won't allow us a calcutta so that's outta the picture. That guy's name is John Mooney. He's still around, but not much involved with pool anymore. I'll just say he had a "falling out" with one of his ponies so he hasn't been around much.
