I started out playing snooker in the UK in my early teens. Of course when I came to the states I got into playing 14.1 and most other billiard type games. I have always had an interest in the technologies behind utility cues ie Break, Jump, and Jump/Break cues. As QBilder attests I am the "Go-Go Gadget Poolplayer". I have tried the different type tips to include phenolic and hard leather. This ultimately led me to the XBreaker. The ability to have a terrific break cue and short or longer jump cue.

Since I don't build cues I passed an idea by Wes Hunter and asked what he thought of the idea. The bottom line is he built the cue and after I tried it out I purchased it. This is why I decided to sell my XBreaker to offset the cost.

I will now debut the pictures of the cue and you can let me know what you think. This is the ULTIMATE GO GO GADGET POOL CUE and will cover almost every situation you will encounter.

Part4 - REALLY interesting stuff

This cue can be configured as:

1. Break Cue or Playing Cue

2. Long Cue for those hard to reach shots

3. Normal short jump cue

4. Longer jump cue

5. Varying length jump cue depending how you screw the butt together

6. Varying length cue for those awkward posts or juke boxes.

The tip, ferrule, and conical shaft taper (STIFF) makes this a great player if you like a hard tip like I do. It works great a Break cue due to the above plus you can really control the rock. Because it is a great player you can shorten the cue as needed if that dreaded post gets in the way. It jumps pretty good though I would say a dedicated jumps better. Pretty hard to beat the Stealth in my opinion.

I have 2 shafts one with Wes's new compressed tip and the other with a SuperPro tip.

I played a chip pool 9-ball tournament with it last night and I only used this cue just to see what I could do. Results: I actually overstroked several drawshots because of the tip and stiffness of the shaft. While practising 9-ball breaks, in 10 breaks I only came up dry once. The best break I made 4 balls. I did jump twice, first jump I hit my OB and 2nd jump made my OB. Finally I used the long cue configuration 3 times. Did not have to use the rake at all even though I am pretty good with a rake. I did miscue twice so I must remember to chalk. That was not the cue it was me......

I will continue to use my Sugartree, but it's great to know what I have available in my arsenal if needed. I will definitely break with it and I will definitely use the long extension. I may even play with it if I can't be bothered to pull out my Sugartree. For jump shots I will still use my Stealth AT1

If you are interested in something similar I would contact Wes Hunter.

It's the LONGER configuration that was the idea we really discussed after REMOVING the normal butt. Remove the normal butt and install a matching longer butt. So I would say this is probably a first. Unless you consider some snooker cues. Most other extensions attach to the cue OR extend from the the cue. I don't think I've seen this idea used in any pool cues.

BTW in long configuration this cue weighs 24.75 ounces so it is still legal for BCA.

I wanted a Breaker you could play with first and foremost. The long configuration is the icing on the cake. This is definitely a CUSTOM cue.

An all-purpose cue. Thats pretty cool. I currently own three of Wes' cues. I've owned a total of six. Highly underrated cuemaker.

Ok did you come up with that on your own?
I ran a ldeal like that some time back.
Butg it's great to see it come out from a top cue maker like WES...

I'm not claiming I'm the first who maybe thought of this idea. In the 40 years I've played I've never seen it done this way before. Yes I've seen the vintage cues you can tear the butt down in mutliple pieces with weights and including the shaft. Everything fits into a briefcase. I've never used one so I can't say anything about putting the butt together in different configurations to vary the length for different shots or conditions.

I've seen the following type extensions:

1. PVC tube you put your cue into

2. Longoni or Tony Ryan type

3. A small shaft with tip you place over your shaft so you can increase the length.

4. Cuetec extension that screws into the butt of your Cuetec cue. This is similar to the options used on the modern snooker cues.

5. The extension that is built into the butt that you pull out.

The closest I have seen are the snooker cues where you screw a longer piece onto the butt of your cue.

A simple idea but one I've never seen implemented THIS way before. So while I'll not claim a patent, you have seen it here first. This technology is called "The REBUTTAL"......
