Here are a couple of pics of the light box I built. Its kinda sloppy, but it all comes apart in less than 10 minutes. So my wife can deal with that....LOL
The pro photographer that was here helped me out a lot, in teaching me about the camera and settings. All the bulbs are flourescent. The whole set up without the big tripod lights was around $65

Light Box Tips?

Hey Steve,
Is there any tips that you learned from the Pro Photographer?
Like lighting directions/placement, why flourescent (Brighter or Whiter light)?
The settings on the camera- shutter speed, if using timer, hand held or on tri-pod?
Or, are these the secrets of the Pro's?:sorry:

Now I know what I'm going to live in when I get to retire !

Should be able to find an outlet and be able to stay warm

Steve,

Thanks for sharing your light box pictures with us. I'm always looking for a way to improve my cue pictures and this will help.

I just built one of these this morning. I spent $125 at Home Depot and bought the following:

(3) 10' 3/4" PVC Pipes
(*) Assorted Fittings
(4) 8 1/2" Clamp Lights
(4) 5 1/2" Clamp Lights
(8) 100W Daylight Florescent Bulbs
(1) Pack of Velcro

It took me less than 30 minutes to cut the pieces and assemble it. I still have to go buy the Fabric later today.

Steve said he had two lights on top. For those, I made a frame that runs 2' above the top down the center to clip the lights to (I'll change the height if I decide it's necessary). I then just need a couple things to clip the lights to on the sides. I have some old speaker stands that I will probably use for the time being.

Sounds cool Tony, have to snap some pics of it to show us non pic taking fellows! Hope it works well for you.

What power of each bulb?

You apply six bulbs? Do you tried 4 bulbs (two from above and one on the each side) or three (one from above and on one on the each side?

Why flourescent bulbs but not usual? Canon PowerShot cameras ( including Canon PowerShot G9) " not so loves " flourescent illumination. (I have Canon PowerShot A-620 and EOS 300D) How you corrected color on pictures or you used standard options and settings of Canon PowerShot G9 only? What options and settings ( Megadate in the shown pictures does not give full description of options and settings)? Thanks.

By the way your pictures are excellent.
