I didn't see anything else about this on here so I thought I'd post it in case anyone who knew him didn't hear about it.

Bob Parker, known as "Two Dollar Bob" played in the San Francisco Bay area and was a fairly well-known and accomplished player. He passed away in his sleep a week or so ago. He was 49.

They are having a memorial party on Sunday after 1:00 p.m. in Vallejo (I can't remember the name of the place, but it's on Marine World Parkway)

If you want more information you can call or visit the Broken Rack in Emeryville.

I know him for 20 years!!! he was great!!! He did have long term heart problems. Man this sucks. RIP to $2 Bob he was a big muscular guy and a very good friend. My sincerest condolences to his family.

he was the guy they called when trees blow in storms on houses et to cut down with chain saws so they didnt do more damage, he told me how he did it and how many years it took to learn how to approach a tree leaning on a house for example where you want to fell it so it didnt hit a car parked below it etc. He was on call 24 hrs a day for that highly skilled work.

He played great for $2 too but for $200 he wasnt as strong, but he was funny, stood his ground in the pool rooms in N Ca and had his peer's respect.

RIP my friend

one more short story, one night he was in Vegas in around 91 or 92 I didnt know he was in town, I was at the Horseshoe making my chump change, he came up behind me and layed both hands on my shoulders hard-scared the heck out of me, I thought I was getting jumped or something, We hadnt seen each other in a few months as I moved to Vegas, he wanted to play craps-he had no clue. I was on short $$$, we went come-come for $100 in 10 minutes we cashed out just under $1000, we hung out a few days on/off after that.

Come to think about it one more story we Ate pizza one morning after the craps score, as the sun was comming up at "Around The Clock Pizza" down from Cue-Topia-thats my last memory of him. I believe that was the last time we spoke.

life is short too short, he was in such good shape too.

He had an accident working with the trees and broke his back. He was up and around and playing pool, but he was in constant, severe pain for the last few years. He took a lot of pain meds.

In spite of that, he's been top shooter in our 8-ball league a few times the last few years.
