Well its that time of the year again. Last year we had 113 players and the Tournament was won by Trevor Smith of Sacramento. This is one of Northern Californias best Tournaments of the year. So get your Chesseburger eating pants on and come join us for the 40th Annual Reunion Tournament for Terry Stonier March 28-29, 2009

Jointed Cue has a decent sized parking lot in back that usually doesn't get much use since it is not well lit at night. There is also a small lot for some local stores across the street.

But yes, parking on the street during the day is often "Ticketville" in Sacramento, with localized and differing day, time and permit restrictions for most areas.

I will likely make a "donation" to the prize fund for this one. :)

I didn't know Terry that well, mainly from being in the weekly tournaments he ran there. But combining my time around him and with what I have heard others say, he displayed a rough and gruff exterior surrounding a king sized heart.

Just like the Jointed Cue; he is a classic that many remember fondly.

I lived in Sacramento for about 10-12 years, and just HATED the Parking RULES there. The Town is obsessed with writing Parking Tickets, and if you get too many they Boot your Car or Truck.

I once came home from the road, and was unloading my 18 Wheeler Tractor Only as I had been on the road about 6 Weeks, and had Laundry, etc that needs to be taken into the house.

I was doing the unload into an open garage, the Tractor was ideling, and one of the Code Enforcement Nazi wrote me a Ticket right before my eye for $125.00 for "Parking the Tractor" in a residential neighborhood.

I ask if he saw me unloading, he said yes, and something like too bad so sad. I called the Code Enforcement Department, and apparently as I was not making a delivery I was a law breaker, was told to pay the ticket, and learn not to park in a residential neighborhood.

Stupidest Parking ticket I ever got. Plus there was no way to fight it in Court, as I was away from home more than there. I told my wife to send the City their $125.00 Donation.

most decent sized cities are like that. oakland is probably the worst i've seen. a buddy of mine (and every car on the block) had their windows smashed for the change that may or may not have been in their ashtrays. yes it was only for the change because my friend had left his cue and mp3 player in the car and neither were touched. anyway all of their windows were smashed and the most had parking tickets on their windshields

funny how the police show up when they can make some money but not to stop a crime

Actually Sacramento Parking Enforcement came under the City Department Called Code Enforcement, and it is a Catch 22 as if you want to fight a parking ticket it is 99% IMPOSSIBLE, hell they gave Code Violation Ticket for all kind of weird laws on the books, and most could not be fought.

Code Enforcement was all about Money, and when they started their DENVER BOOT Program for those with many Unpaid Parking Tickets the City really cleaned up with all kinds of boot On, and Boot Off Charges, and Penalties

Funny thing was it seemed like most of the On Street Parking Downtown Sacramento near State Building was in many case taken by State Employees with Handicapped Plackets many of who parked the entire day at a City Parking Meter for FREE. Legal Under California LAW.

I use to love when the Department of Motor Vehicle would send their Investigators out to check the people using the Handicapped Placards, and many were gotten from Friends working at DMV, or Counterfeit at the local Swap Meets.

Use to love to see the State Employees get ticketed for Illegal Placard USE, and their FREE Parking Placards taken away.

bump

just a little bump....and to lol how this thread has become a Sac. Parking lot thread...o yeah I got a parking ticket last Tues night when I was there for the Tournament. $40

I still have the ticket (unpaid) from parking on the street two houses down from the Jointed Cue during the tournament last year...
oops.
Park in back or across the street if it gets too crowded.
Great tournament, great turn outs every year, and don't forget the (pool)world famous cheeseburgers.
Always plenty of action around, especially if you want to get on one of the billiards table up front.

So who's coming to try and get their place on the wall of fame with all the big dogs?!??
EVERYONE has played here at some point- McCready, Varner, Sigel, Buddy Hall, you can pretty much name it and they are on a tournament bracket somewhere on a wall from the old days....

Great

It would be a pleasure to have the both of you here again. I think Oscar and his father are 2 of the most respectable people in Pool & Billiards.
