My New GINACUE w/ Burton Spain Forearm

Here's a cue that Ernie Gutierrez made for me around a Burton Spain 1969 blank. Ernie helped me discuss what I wanted not only in terms of appearance but also considering balance and feel and actually helped me to understand the ways things could vary in the feel of a cue, what my options were and what I preferred.

I really appreciate the job Ernie did. The cue looks so cool, a classic old-school look that reflects both Spain and Ernie in an admirable light. Plus the cue feels and hits just as I wanted it to but had never been able to get across to a cue maker.

There's no stopping me now.

Thanks Ernie, you are the Master.

Ernie helped me formulate what I wanted as far as feel in a way he could translate into the cue and then he did it. For my wants, the cue feels and plays perfectly. I'm very impressed with the job Ernie did for me.

The Spain component is a nice bonus. I hope the folks that bought the Spain blanks from me last week will be as happy with their end result as I am with mine.

Kevin,

I applaud you!

To see that forearm come to life in the hands of Ernie just makes this cue. This is exactly the kind of understated,
functional beauty is what I love about the classic cue.

Wow!!!!!

That's the most beautiful traditional Ginacue ever!!

I really like it Kev....I think you need a new avatar. I'll try and do a better job, but for now.....

Well, I can honestly say that cue is now my favourite Gina of all time. So cool that Ernie would make something like this. Pure class......Well done.

Wow.

Nice.

Not to gild the lilly but can you get the Spain on the far right so the old barbell is flanked by 2nd generation Ginas?

It was very cool of Ernie to build this cue. I honestly felt like a kid at Christmas when I picked it up.

Thanks for the comments.

Wow...

Kevin,
That thing is a monster, I bet it plays as good as it looks. A true piece of art, ONE OF A KIND. Man, it must be nice to have connections with a legend. Ernie did a great job putting the cue together, and Spain did a great job building your blank...so cool. Enjoy it in good health.

Thanks I'm very happy with this cue. Ernie was remarking about how he liked the sound it made.

Kev,

I'm really lousy at this, I'm sure some of the photoshop wizz's can do better but here's another weak effort:

That's not weak. You are doing great with my inconsistent pics, which were taken at 2 different angles. You'd need some 3-d rotational thing in order to fix my pics.

I'm workin' on that, I've got to get a jig to attach it to the hubble telescope and then just make sure all the vertical lines are aimed at Zantar....

I'll post results.
