my best pool bud passed away last night. We have played together for many years every Sunday without fail.... SuperBowls' New Years' Xmas Eve never mattered what holiday or event, We were a playin'..... We started at Valley Billiards in Unionville ct 7 years ago or so meeting out of the blue, then when Sammie closed we moved to Larry Liscotti's place <World Championship Billiards> in Manchester Ct where we played until he couldn't stand at a table anymore. Pool was the Love of his life next to his wonderful wife Nancy who supported his Love of Pool.
I owe much of my pool game and pool accomplishments to him. He was always the one guy that wasn't afraid to help me in my game. He will be dearly missed as a pool partner and a Great friend. He lost his battle to cancer at age of 62.
Please keep Nancy in your Prayers.

A pool bud like that is a real lifetime treasure. The two of you had hundreds of hours of good times. Hope he is hitting a few in the big pool hall upstairs and know you miss him big-time.

I am sorry to here this, I lost a pool buddy and fellow gardener about 2 years ago. He gave me his cue about 10 days before he passed and I will never forget that moment. He was 63 and very healthy. Once again sorry for your loss.

thanks much
He gave me his Fanelli when the end was near, and i will cherish it to my grave.
Friends like that are one in a million..... who else would put up with each other for thousands of hours <literally> at the pool table....... LOL

CueJunkiee, thank you for posting about Butch -- as nice a guy as you'll ever find.

I, too, knew him and played quite a few times with him going back nearly 20 years. He loved the game of 8-ball but didn't care too much for 9-ball. He was a pro fan, though, and attended quite a few tournaments in New England over the years. By trade he was a machinist.

He had been fighting cancer quite a while. What a shame.

Sorry to hear of your loss, and Nancy's. Friends like this are cherished and you are both lucky to have crossed paths. My heart aches for you.

cuejunkiee you are a lucky man indeed to have had a friend like Butch and he was blessed to have had you and Nancy - I would only hope that everyone could be so lucky - a good women and a good friend - if you could have all that - making a ball now and then would be a stonecold bonus -

Butch was a Great Guy and will be Missed!

Butch was a great guy and I was deeply sadden to hear about his passing. I used to play him often back in the mid '90s and would even go to his house and play him on his beautiful Brunswick table. He was a soft spoken, mild manor guy and I enjoyed our conversations while shooting pool. I hadn't seen him in a while, but he will be missed. Bob,

Sorry for your loss bud.

You lost a family member. Don't let what he taught you go with him. Keep it alive.
