The economic downturn was the reason there was no money added. The tournament committee tried their best to attain corporate sponsorship for the tournament , but right now pool is just not the interest of most companies capable of sponsoring sporting events. There was also a problem with the lung/cancer association not providing validity to the tournament cause.
