Kennedy vs. Archer '92 US Open Finals

One of the funniest things I've ever seen is Houston Whitey's immitation of Tommy Kennedy when Johnny walks into the room. "He's amazing. It's Johnny. Johnny Archer. Wow." Talk about pissing yourself. Sounds just like him, mannerisms and all.

Tommy is a riot, ALWAYS smiling and joking.

I used to see him almost every week in the Orlando area back when I started playing 88-92.

Back around that time, Dennis Hatch was also in FL a lot, and I was a struggling "C" player, at best. But... I look a little like DH, shoot lefty and used to love to watch him play.

Tommy picked up on that, and every time I'd walk into the room Tommy would squeal at the top of his lungs "Look!! It's Dennis Hatch!!!"

Talk about having all eyes on you in a poolroom. :sorry:

WOWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I knew that Tommy won the U.S. Open, but had no idea it was that convincingly.

That bank on the 6 was unbelievable. I was positive he would play safe.

It looked like Tommy had no concept of "safe" back then, but if you can rifle in shots like that, are safeties really necessary?

Btw, TK of today would probably play safe...he's not a kid anymore.

pool was very different back then. players fired away. not ALOT of saftey play. big pockets too. today with accu stats scoring and playing on them diamonds with tougher pockets its easlier to hide.

i had the pleasure of meeting tommy this past summer at one of his pro tournements. I have to say, he is a great guy, EXtremly nice. he even gave me a red circle and signed it since i had no idea that i was going to be at that event since i was suppose to be at work =( haha
