This is what I call the true Mother's Day gift!
It is not a girly cue by all means but it would fit very well the hands of a mommy player :)

WoW!! Whomever designed that one did an AWESOME job! :slap: LoL!

My heart actually skipped a beat with this one, Marcus...best of luck with your sale! You gotta know that if I had something to throw at this one, I would. :crying:

Lisa...still doesn't think this one is a 'girly' cue.

lisa,
it kinda hurt me to list it, knowing that you certainly missed this beauty.

You did a great job on the design, and skips' execution is flawless as always.

Marcus...it's all good with me and you....at this point, I couldn't even hope to get close to her/it again...although I wish I could. I just appreciate that those who have owned her/it have kept me in the loop with regards to her/it's care and well-being. I happen to believe it may well be some of Skip's best work to date...but I could be a wee biased...LoL. I can only hope that she/it's new owner equally keep me in the loop....as some day I can only hope to have her/it back again. At any rate, I can tell those who may be interested that the cue is absolutely flawlessly executed, and I still believe it to be some of Skip's best work to date.

Unfortunately, the only way to truly show the beauty of the BdR is in natural sunlight...as only then can one get the pics to show the true chatoyance ( shimmer) that the BdR truly has. Folks....this stuff shimmers like you wouldn't believe, I liken the color to that of a deep, rich burgundy (black cherry)...and the hit of it is on par with that of Brazilian. Whether you are a collector or a player...you would be quite hard pressed to find a better example of Skip's flawless work in any other cue beyond this one....he really went the extra mile for me with this one....and it truly shows in the hand. I doubt quite seriously if anyone acquiring this cue would be disappointed in any way, shape, or form. I defy you to find a flaw in the execution....seriously. I can only hope that she/it winds up in the hands of one of our serious collectors...as she/it really deserves the props she/it is due. Absolutely a 'landmark' cue from Skip, IMHO.

As a side note who might find this one a bit 'girly'...look at some examples of the masters, who also chose to use heart inlays in a very few examples of their cues. When it's dome right, it ain't 'girly'...LoL.

Someone needs to really give this one a good home....once you have it in hand, you'll get what I mean....no hype implied.

Enjoy. :)

Marcus...I had to do a little bit of searching to find these, but they really show better the actual grain that is there, when the light hits it just right. This wood has what is called 'chatoyance'...which basically means 'light from within'...it shimmers in the light...just beautiful. This cue really is an absolute knock-out in person!!

Bois de Rose is a sub-species of Madagascar Rosewood. It has a great tonal properties, similar to that of Brazilian. I know of one maker who considers BdR to be in the Top 3 of exception playing woods; 1)Brazilian Rosewood, 2)Gabon Ebony, 3)Bois de Rose. When this cue is laid next to an Ebony cue, it has a distinctive black cherry color.

As to execution, this cue is flawless...recut points are dead-on, inlays are perfect. Aside from the wrap...this cue is all exotic hardwoods woods (no dyed veneers) and ivory...no phenolics, The Pink Ivory and Maple rings are ALL set into BdR...including that at the joint.

For the record, even the greats made a cue or two with ivory heart inlays...and I doubt the owners of those cues would consider them 'girly'. :D
