Although I don't have the contract signed, I received a message today that we've reached an agreement with Harrah's for a 3 year deal at the Horseshoe in Southern Indiana. The dates for 2010 will be Jan. 22-30.

We must have made quite an impression as the G.M. has stated that he plans on assisting us with other Harrah's Properties to form a potential
Professional and Amateur Pool Tour...I can't celebrate yet, as of now it's only in the discussion stage, but it's definitely a very good start.

There will be more information in the near future. I'll keep everyone posted as best I can. Before I give more details I'd like the papers signed.

I'll also be posting around June 1 details on the upcoming Diamond table contrac for the Galveston Event.

thanks, Greg Sullivan

This is absolutely fantastic news, thank you.

The idea of a big name, deep pockets sponsorship for pool has definitely made my heart rate go up a few beats. After the Camel Tour, I never thought we'd see any company entertain the thought of sponsoring pool, at least not in my lifetime.

Congrats on securing a place for the next three yrs. I understand its difficult to find a place big enough to hold the event & willing to put up with pool players for 9 days.

Thank you for all that you do for pool Mr. Sullivan.

Great news Greg, it was really nice last year. Are the room rates going to stay about the same, $105, $130? Tom

DCC Dates

Any idea when we can start making reservations?

You should wait until I have a signed contract stating what the room rates will be...They are tuff action matching up on their rooms....The DCC dates are Jan 22-30, 2010.....You can count on those dates and can make reservations whenever you want, however waiting till the ink is dry may save you money with a DCC rate...I'd be interested in what rate they would quote you now for those dates before I have a contract signed....Greg

Just make sure somebody else runs your tournaments. Computer glitches, dinners, forgot your name and so on. How many years do you need to work those things out!

Complaining without offering any solutions to the problems is like being a fish farting under warter

No one really cares what you say. WTH does Dinners have to do with the DCC?

The one that really baffles me is "forgot your name".

LOL. I guess now a promoter is supposed to know every player in the event by name. All 500 of them.

I was guessing it referred to someone paying to play and not getting on the list, the DCC tournament ppl 'forgot your name' or just 'forgot to put it on the list' BUT DINNER... ????? WTF???

Yahoo!

I had a blast last year at Harrah's (despite the hellacious snow storm) after attending two of the previous DCC's at the Executive West.

Loved Harrah's, despite all the walking involved, and I believe this venue is best for the tournament. Only disappointment was that the vendors seemed to be shunted aside, but that can be remedied.

Can't wait for tournament time.

Only beef!

The only problem I have with the venue is the risk of breathing "second hand smoke", not something a person should have to be exposed too.
That was one of the best things that ever happened to the DCC at the Executive West, it made it an enjoyable experience. Now at the Horseshoe I can't say that anymore.

No Smoking

The DCC is a NON-SMOKING tournament. Harrah's can allow them to smoke in some areas but to cast the impression that smoking is in the tournament rooms is mis-leading!!
I believe you can smoke in the gambling areas.

You cannot smoke in any of the tournament areas.

Please try to be accurate when posting as some people may rely on what you say in planning whether to attend or not.

Thanks

Mark Griffin

Take note, pink-lunged crowd

The other option is to buy yourself an air mask. Fer chrissakes, this is our best tournament of the year, and you're hung up on second-hand smoke?

Buy the Accustats tapes.
