Rodney Morris's New John Showman Cue

I went over to the Riv to see what was up with the UPA event and ran into Rodney practicing. I noticed he had a new cue from the last time I saw him and knew right away what it had to be. I asked him if I could shoot some pictures of his new knockout John Showman cue.

If I had to sum up John's work in just two words it would be "Classic Perfection". This cue is as classic as it gets, four veneered ebony points into maple, ebony butt with stacked veneers and a leather wrap (not sure, maybe elephant???). The execution is flawless. This cue is just awesome.

Those veneers and points are just clean as hell... Nice job Mr. Shownman. Great cue for a great player!
 
Very "Boti-esque" looking. Sweet cue. Tell John I said he's a design stealin, uncreative bastid :wink:

Man, I just read your blog. I was thinking about driving up there to sweat the Tourney, thats a shame but I guess you only have to win one match to get into the $$. How deep are they paying out?

There are some strong players in. Rodney, Stevie, Keith Bennett, Morra,and Gomez. I heard Thorsten and Mika were going to be playing I just didnt see them. It is undoubtedly a weaker field than one would hope for but like I said in the blog it is better than no event at all.

If you come up let me know and we can have a beer.

That is a masterpiece! The wrap is Elephant. Maybe you could interview Rodney and ask him to compare his new cue to the Szamboti he played with for so many years.

Awesome looking cue. Now I know that the "Rocket" and I have something in common...we both like Ebony in our cues and sharp points. I of course have no wrap on my.

Just another reason to be a Rodney fan! I look forward to seeing him use it at this years Mosconi Cup.

Wow!!Very nice cue.Rodney seems more than happy to show it to you which is very cool.I have never met him but he seems very approachable.I love the classic points looks awesome!:thumbup:
 
Great looking cue, I have been lucky enough to have had three Showman cues. That is definitely an elephant ear wrap and the only thing nicer than John Showman's cues is John and his wife MaryLane they are awesome people. Thanks for sharing.

I have almost the identical cue! It looks awesome in John's hands. These cues are the best playing cues and most well built on the planet.
 
After seeing this cue, is there a wait list for a Showman? Is he taking orders?

Probably a stupid couple of questions......
