This is not a brianna cue

I first private meessaged you about this cue asking to take it off this is not my cue or my signature i never used a pin like that either, plus never made a jump break cue til this past year, this price is fair but this is not a brianna cue please dont post it as it is. About a month ago someone emailed me asking if this was my cue and i responded it wasnt not sure if that was you or not

It was me and I am not going to remove this thread. The name signed on it is Brianna and that is what I will sell it as; wether it is you Brianna or someone else Brianna.

Personally, I think that is a serious mistake.

We have seen numerous counterfeit cues on AZB over the years (most recently, I think of the Gina). When it has been brought to one's attention that it is a fake, and especially when the cuemaker himself confirms that this is a fake, it is wrong to continue to offer it as genuine.

This looks like a very decent cue butt, and should bring your asking price even without it being a "genuine" Brianna cue.

I agree about this to an extent, what if its another cuemaker named Brianna? If the signature is under the finish then it might be another maker because I doubt someone would make a fake Brianna cue, it just does not make sense unless it is some sort of joke. Either way it looks like a good jump break.

Actually, I have seen people copy lesser known cuemakers in the past. It gives there product some legitimacy and since very few people are aware of the cuemaker's name, they just accept it as real. I guarantee you that out on a poolroom of league/bar players, 8 out of 10 have never heard of MOST custom cuemakers.

Brianna is a pretty rare name. I think it doubtful that the name would be chosen by two independent cuemakers.

If Jensen_Lover is intent on advertising the cue on here, I think that he should make it VERY clear that it is NOT a Brianna cue made by Lee Malakoff, and that the true maker is unknown.

Full disclosure is what I think most AZB members are about...but I could be wrong.

thanks i first sent a pm to him asking nicely to remove the cue and it wasnt mine after lookking at my back emails i was sent an email and picture asking if it was mine i responded no it wasnt now i see it here so i pm first before posting here there is no other brianna cue maker we all know that even though my cues dont comand big dollars its just the point

The man said it was not his signature. I think that is sufficient to let everyone know it is not this Brianna's cue. I bought the cue as a Brianna a year or two ago on e-bay. I had never heard of the Brianna on AZ until just before I sent him an e-mail. I realize I am not an established member and my word means nothing but I did not sign this cue Brianna 4-04. The signature IS under the finish. Someone mentioned this might be another Brianna so maybe that is the case.

I think Genuine losses a lot of its meaning when Balabushkas are still being made. As you can see I did not state this cue was made by the fellow AZer Brianna.

I am not trying to bust you or anything with what I stated. It is just best to err on the side of conservatism on here. If you are ever uncertain of anything, just state it up front. Folks who are in the know will help you more than bust you.

As for Balabushkas, the production cues with his name on them, which were authorized by the family of Balabushka, are still being made by Adam Cues. They are identified by the "George Balabushka" in script on the forearm. They sell for a few hundred dollars each.

The genuine Balabushka custom cues, made by George Balabushka (who died in 1974), are not made any more. The genuine Bushkas start at about the $10K range and go all the way to "Oh my god!!"

I understand that. But the very second post in this thread was more than sufficient for anyone to realize it is not his cue. Anything else chimed in after his post is overkill.

Bump.

Love at first sight is easy to understand; it's when two people have been looking at each other for a lifetime that it becomes a miracle.

Couple things from me...not that it's worth a spit....

Jensen, I must concur with the others....the man says it's not his, it's not his...maybe rephrasing with something like "the name Brianna is written under the finish" in your sales pitch. Having the name "Brianna" under the finish DOES NOT mean it's a cue made by Mr. Malakoff under the Brianna brand name. If I had a daughter and named her "Meucci" and in dedication to her I had some schlub make me a cue and put her name on the cue before it was finished could I sell it as a Bob Meucci cue? The magic eight ball says "All signs point to no"

Mr. Malakoff, no disrespect, I hadn't heard of you before stumbling across this thread....I have to say now, you have a new fan. Your work is brilliant from what I can tell in pictures. Your Art Cantando Tribute cue is one of the most beautiful cues I've seen in a long time. I think both Art and Barry Szamboti would be proud.

Best regards

Mattie

I am sure everyone knows it is not his. Just read the second post in this thread. I can not imagine someone buying this cue thinking it is his. No, you could not sell your hypothetical daughter's cue as a Bob Meucci. As you can see in my original post I do not say it is Brianna187's cue. Glad to see your hiatus is over.

here's the real answer

My name is brian and I made the cue. It started off as a sneaky and then a friend of mine (ned anderson) said he needed a jump break, easy conversion so I added a joint. The reason for the letters appearing in the follopwing order is my name-brian and the original owners initials, N.A. The periods in between the initials came off during the finishing process. Sorry for the missunderstanding and all the hoopla...;)
btw this butt should bring a lot of money, as Ned Anderson was a true road player who never once played in a tournament, yet still made enough money in his lifetime to support his eleven wives and two boyfriends...
