Alright, for all you who wanted it, I've scheduled a training course Aug 1, 2 and 3rd at Pro Tyme Billiards at 11925 S Cicero Ave, Alsip, IL. 60803

All I ask of the mechanics that want to attend is that you schedule your attendance with Felice at Simonis so I know how many rooms to book for you at the Comfort Inn in Alsip. Call her at 847-360-9209 with your name/address and phone#

Ed Hiller, room owner, is paying for your stay at the Comfort Inn, and yes we'll be booking more than one person to a room:D so you'll have some buddy's staying in your room with you, I think this also helps everyone get to know one another for future purposes of building a support group.

At this training seminar we will be breaking down 10 GC3's, 2 GC4's and 2 Diamond 7ft Smart tables. The GC's will all be broke down to the frames, then reset from there up.

What we'll be covering is the following:

Bracing the framing of the GC's.

Leveling 3 piece slates using a more than likely new leveling system to most of you.

Installing Simonis 860HR using my gluing system, and pocket work.

Recovering rails, teaching my system of rail recovering.

Cushion replacement and sub-rail extension of one GC4 to 4 3/8'ths corner pocket openings.

Teaching the Diamond 26 point leveling system on 2 Diamond Smart tables.

Teaching the inner workings of the Diamond Smart table, how to repair/adjust and trouble shooting included.

This is going to be a free course so, yes that means there is no extra charge;)

I ask that you bring your tools with you, as you will be learning as you're working, what ever else you need that you don't have, I'll supply.

In order to get your room paid for, you need to be registered with Simonis by no later than July 28th, check in will be starting at noon July 31st.

If you have helpers that would like to come with you, bring them as well.

If there are any room owners that would like to attend, you're more than welcome to come by and watch, ask questions, or look and learn.

If there's any home owners with tables that would like to watch this training course, you're more than welcome to stop in as well.

Training starts 10am Saturday/Sunday/Monday mornings. This course is not about how fast tables can be recovered, this is about learning together as a group, retaining what you've learned, and the beginning of what will come soon enough as we start to pull together as mechanics to form our own organization.

PS.

I just used a glue stick to hold down the wrinkles in my cloth. Is this correct? My table seems to run really slow now. :(

The written and picture step by step instructions for installing the bed cloth using glue will be available and free for the mechanics that show up:D I can't say any more about that at this time;) But...all my instructions written and picture step by step directions alone with DVD support will be available soon enough, just have to do something first before I can release them to the public;)

Glen

That's a great thing you are doing here ! I called my local room to let them know. Waiting on a call back from the owner. Hopefully, he will send someone!!

It's a very good idea for room owners to stop in and see what's going on with this training seminar, as I've said before, one way or another this industry has got to change to the better, and better tables, better cloth, better cues and players alone is just not enough. Everyone plays pool on a table a mechanic worked on last, to many times I hear complaints about the work the mechanic did last, so now it's time to start doing something about it, by supporting mechanics that KNOW what they're doing!

An awesome opportunity. Neat stuff, especially for those who didn't get to apprentice under a master...

I also think the idea of someone taking on the job of video editing and producing a DVD would be both informative for many and profitable as well.

Wonderin if there is gonna be any limit an numbers attending ??? I"M IN as of yesterday

Nope, I've got the whole pool room to myself and everyone attending Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Ed is going to close the pool room so we can all work together to get this seminar in the history books so to speak:D

Glen

This will be the first time in the history of pool that so many mechanic's have been pulled together in one place at the same time:D

I'm in an area now that my phone works, so call me when you get the chance.

From what I've read so far, I guess there's no one with a pool table at home that is interesed in seeing what REALY should be going on when they get their table recovered, thus the hacks in this market place;)
